Why go

Ngataringa Skate Park is one of Devonport's quiet gems — a relaxed, open-air skate spot set within a wide grassy reserve, with a genuinely surprising view across the harbour to the Auckland CBD skyline. The vibe is friendly and low-pressure, which makes it a brilliant first skate park for younger kids and beginners building confidence. Plenty of space, no crowds, and one of the best views you'll get from any skate park in the city.

What to expect

A medium-sized concrete park with a mix of beginner-friendly features, sitting in a big open reserve opposite the Devonport Golf Course. The whole space spreads out across the grass, so there's room for siblings to run around, dogs to wander past, or a picnic blanket between skate sessions. It's exposed to the elements — no built-in shade or benches — so it lives or dies by what you bring with you. On a clear day, you'll catch the city skyline and Sky Tower through the trees — not a full harbour view, but a lovely unexpected bonus.
