Duck Island Ice Cream | Newmarket
About
Duck Island started with a bold idea on the first day of winter in 2015 — handmade ice cream in Hamilton, of all places. The doubters didn’t last long. Now Auckland has four locations to enjoy their boundary-pushing flavours made from locally sourced, fresh ingredients. The fairy bread flavour — hundreds and thousands on buttered white bread reimagined as ice cream — is a certified Kiwi classic, and the salted caramel and cacao crumb is not to be missed. A genuinely special ice cream experience.
While Duck Island is available in selected New World supermarkets, visiting one of their scoop stores is a completely different experience — the full range of creative flavours, ice cream sandwiches and ice cream cakes for special occasions! Worth seeking out the real thing.
Duck Island Newmarket is as beautiful to look at as the ice cream is to eat. Housed in a stunning converted warehouse space with exposed brick, blush pink tiles, warm timber benches and oversized globe pendant lights, it’s one of Auckland’s most Instagrammable interiors. The kind of place you go for the salted caramel and cacao crumb and stay because you don’t want to leave.
