Honest Chocolat is one of Auckland's standout artisan chocolate experiences — a proper bean-to-bar chocolatier from a husband-and-wife team that started in a Snells Beach garage in 2016 and now sits in the heart of Commercial Bay. They source single-origin cacao from places like Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu, and craft everything by hand without fillers or shortcuts. Step in for a Proper Hot Chocolate, one of their signature Choc-Tails, or to choose something from the glass cabinet — bonbons, bars and seasonal treats that look as good as they taste. What to expect
A small, beautifully designed chocolate bar and boutique on the ground floor of Commercial Bay, by the Albert Street entrance. Sit in for a hot chocolate or Choc-Tail (their inventive cocktail-meets-cacao creations), browse the glass cabinet of handcrafted bonbons and tablets, or pick up a gift — the packaging is gorgeous and they have vegan and gluten-free options too. There's also nationwide shipping if you want to send something further afield. A second store in Matakana Village is worth a visit if you're heading north.
